A Lifeline for Our Neighbors
In Adair Park, we know that community means looking out for each other. That’s why Adair Park Today launched the Adair Park Housing Fund: a small but powerful program to support neighbors facing hardship. The fund provides up to two $500 grants per year to help cover utilities or mortgage payments. While it doesn’t cover home repairs, historical preservation, or first-time homebuyer support, this initiative serves as a vital bridge for those who find themselves in a pinch.

Atlanta’s housing crisis affects us all—rents are rising, wages aren’t keeping pace, and utility bills climb higher each year. In our neighborhood, many residents live on fixed incomes, and a single unexpected bill can tip the scales. The Housing Fund steps in during these moments of vulnerability.
Our process is simple and discreet. Applicants submit a short form, reviewed by a volunteer committee who maintain the applicant’s confidentiality. Once approved, the grant is paid directly to the utility company or mortgage provider—no strings attached, just a neighbor helping another neighbor stay afloat.
Since its inception, the Housing Fund has helped over two dozen Adair Park households remain stable during financial shocks. These are our elders, single parents, young families, and legacy residents—the people who give Adair Park its heartbeat.
The fund is supported entirely by community contributions. From porch party tip jars to anonymous checks and business sponsors, every dollar makes a difference. We also receive donations from neighbors who received help themselves and want to pay it forward.
Looking ahead, we hope to grow the fund to support more neighbors, more often. We aim to raise $15,000 annually to meet growing need. We’ve also begun conversations with other neighborhood associations to replicate the model.
